Role profile

Osborne Clarke are seeking a PMO Analyst to join our growing Change & Transformation team in either our Bristol or London office.

This position will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of the UK Firm's firm‑wide PMO by embedding agreed portfolio, programme and project governance and methodologies, and managing the change portfolio's data to enable appropriate decision making.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract position offering hybrid working.

The role

The PMO Analyst will be a key member of the Change & Transformation team, promoting collaboration, team working, and innovation. This role will involve supporting the PMO Manager in providing key services in the UK firm's firm‑wide PMO, including comprehensive, accurate and useful MI/reporting of portfolio and financial information to enable effective decision making by the Director of Change and the International Change Board (ICB).

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Developing an effective working relationship with appropriate stakeholders to ensure accurate portfolio information is provided.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for key portfolio practices advocating best practices in change, programme & project management and business analysis.
  • Developing and maintaining frameworks for key portfolio practices and championing best practice for these across the function and wider business.
  • Supporting the identification and tracking of key portfolio wide, project and programme risks and issues, ensuring that the mitigating actions are being identified and managed.
  • Developing a detailed understanding of the projects/programmes within the portfolio to provide value‑add in terms of proactive identification of inter‑dependencies, risks, issues etc.
  • Financial management to ensure appropriately detailed business cases are created, with quantifiable benefits which can then be tracked throughout the lifetime of the project.
We are looking for
  • Experience as a member of an enterprise/firm‑wide PMO team.
  • A strong analytical and client‑centric mind‑set, with the ability to synthesise complex information across a diverse, firm‑wide portfolio of change (including strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills).
  • Strong coordination skills, as developed in a project, programme or portfolio environment.
  • A good understanding of different portfolio, programme and project methodologies.
  • The ability to support stakeholders across the portfolio in the development of critical governance documents that aid the ICB's and Director of Change & Transformation decision making (e.g. status reporting, business case development).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to consolidate complex information into executive level reporting/recommendations.
  • Existing project management or PMO qualifications (PMP, PMI, APM, PROSCI, P3O) desirable.
  • An ability to demonstrate an understanding of the critical role that a firm‑wide PMO and change function plays within an organisation.
  • Financial management skills, covering budgeting and reporting and overall project financial control, to ensure investment value for the client. Experience in the construction of annual investment plans is an advantage.
  • A logical and methodical approach to problem solving, with good attention to detail.
