Job description

TLTP are recruiting for a PMLD, complex needs Teacher to teach in a specialist college in Bromley.

This will be involve teaching Entry level / functional skills level 1, low level post 19 life skills.

This specialist college is a centre of excellence for post 16 with complex need, pmld or ASD and/or additional needs. Situated in Bromley they are a small, inclusive school catering for a range of SEN needs.

This college are specialists in supporting pupils through a personalised curriculum, appropriate support, and harnessing the very latest technology, they don't just help our pupils access the curriculum, they bring it alive for them.

As a result, their pupils thrive; they achieve a variety of qualifications and develop into confident, articulate, and ambitious young adults who are curious to further their knowledge and stretch themselves.

Eligibility and Experience

To apply you will need to have QTS or QTLS and some SEN experience ideally.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the progress of all pupils in their specialism.
  • Coordinating the work of a team of SEN TAs and providing required direct teaching time to meet the needs of the class groups and pupils.
  • Look at pupils holistically and draw on a wide range of social care and teaching strategies to meet pupil needs whilst promoting safety and well‑being.
  • Deliver lessons that are pupil‑focused and creative, according to an agreed timetable.
  • Provide opportunities for pupils to experience/understand English subjects in a range of contexts.
Key Requirements
  • Special needs Teachers will be required to be committed to the development of both yourself and the pupils in your class.
  • Special needs Teachers must have QTS or QTLS.
  • Must be able to deliver outstanding teaching and learning alongside a multi‑disciplinary classroom team.
  • Experience of taking the lead in your subject area and have clear ideas of how to achieve exceptional progress for students.
  • Ability to ensure that your pupils fulfil their potential and that you are ambitious in your expectations of them.
  • Possess a calm demeanour to maintain a sense of humour under pressure.
  • Understand and be committed to safeguarding children.
  • Special needs Teachers must have SEN/complex needs/SLD/PMLD experience.
  • Special needs Teacher must have Secondary or post 16 experience.
  • Special needs Teachers Passionate, fun and vibrant.
