Job summary

A facilities management company in the West Midlands is seeking an on-site Plumber to ensure safety and compliance in maintenance tasks within prisons. Overview

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Plumber in HMYOI Drake Hall. The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, Monday – Friday. At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons.

By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly. The Plumber plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.

What you will do
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are met across the contract
  • Perform statutory works on time, ensuring compliance
  • Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs
  • Repair mains water supply and addressing life-expired equipment
  • Inspect, sample water, and assess risks to maintain system integrity
  • Monitor the BMS System to ensure optimal performance
  • Support zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals
  • Handle additional tasks as directed by your line manager, including working at height and in various weather conditions
What you will bring
  • Appropriate Trade qualification - NVQ level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating
  • Experience in operating light plant
  • Legionella Control (L8) and experience in a commercial environment would be desirable
