A local council in Dunrossness seeks a Play Practitioner to assist in providing quality childcare. You will support a team in creating a safe and stimulating environment for children, aligning with social service regulations. Join a dedicated team and contribute to the well-being of children in the community. This part-time role is temporary for 20 hours a week during school terms.
The Play Practitioner will assist in the delivery of a quality childcare service that offers children care, play and learning opportunities in a safe and stimulating environment.
The Play Practitioner will support the Manager/Lead Practitioner (Early Learning & Childcare and Out of School Club) in developing and delivering a safe hygienic and pleasant environment where mutual trust, respect, confidence and a caring ethos are evident in accordance with current legislation including the Roles and Responsibilities Framework of the Scottish Social Service Council for the Childcare Workforce.

Dunrossness Primary School is a non-denominational school located in Dunrossness. It provides nursery to P7 education for children from Sumburgh to Levenwick. The school has an early learning and childcare setting for 3-5 year olds, operating for 8 hours each day, and 4 composite primary classes. There is currently a total of 91 primary pupils and 31 nursery pupils on the roll. The school is managed by a Head Teacher. The current staffing complement is 4.5 teachers, who are assisted by support staff as required to meet school demands. The current Head Teacher is Mrs Louise Leslie.
