Platform Engineer (Kubernetes + Automation)

Rate: 400 - 430 a day

IR35: Inside IR35

Location: Sheffield Hybrid - 60% office 40% home

Duration: 6 Months initially.

You will join a global IT Consultancy delivering digital transformation to a financial services company.

Role Overview

The Core Platform Engineering Team is responsible for the end to end operation, automation and enhancement of a large scale hybrid server estate supporting business critical workloads. This is a mixed engineering role, where team members contribute across fulfilment, implementation, platform maintenance, automation, and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engineering, fulfilment and operational tasks across the Core Platform.
  • Operate and maintain large scale Kubernetes (K8s) environments.
  • Perform hands on implementation and configuration changes.
  • Automate operational tasks using Python, Ansible, GitHub, Jira, Jenkins.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong Kubernetes skills.
  • Automation experience.
  • Linux, networking, container ecosystem knowledge.
Preferred
  • Experience operating large server estates.
