We are seeking a talented and motivated Platform Engineer to join our team and contribute to our mission of protecting the UK through data-driven insights and solutions. As a Platform Engineer, you will work closely with our public sector clients and project teams to design, develop, and implement platform and infrastructure solutions that meet our clients’ requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand their platform engineering needs, business objectives, and operational constraints, acting as a trusted technical advisor
- Design, develop, and implement secure, reliable, and scalable platform solutions across cloud and on-premise environments, taking ownership from concept through delivery
- Utilise your expertise to lead the architecture of robust, scalable, and secure systems, embedding network and cyber security best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to gather project requirements, analyse feasibility, and provide clear, pragmatic technical recommendations
- Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in platform and DevOps engineering, proactively sharing knowledge and raising the technical bar across the team
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful project delivery within the defined timelines and budget
- Accurately delivering high quality work to agreed timelines, including the ability to take the initiative and knowing how to jump straight in
- Support client engagements including pitches and presentations, clearly articulating platform approaches and technical value
- Contribute to the growth of Daintta by actively shaping company strategy, technical direction, and ways of working

Skills/Knowledge
The role requires the following key skills / knowledge, non-exhaustively:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years professional experience as a Platform / DevOps / Cloud / Site Reliability engineer, preferably in a consultancy or industry setting
- Experience working with one or more of the major cloud platforms – AWS, Azure or GCP
- Experience designing, building, and operating internal developer platforms (IDPs), with a focus on reliability and adoption
- A product-focused mindset that understands and prioritises the impact of platform changes on end users and developer experience
- Experience developing, operating, and evolving cloud and on-premise solutions in production environments
- Production experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Bicep etc)
- Experience designing and implementing solutions with network security, identity, and access considerations built in
- Strong understanding of networking concepts such as private VPCs, security groups, NAT gateways, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum. In particular iterative approaches to software development in conjunction with the client
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in fast-paced environments
- A passion for delivering high quality solutions that meet client expectations
- Sound understanding of Software Engineering practices and principles, such as CI/CD pipelines for verifying, building, testing and pushing deployment artefacts
- Experience in OCI containerisation (e.g. Docker) and associated orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
- Experience implementing observability solutions, including centralised logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure and cloud security principles and best practices

Location
Hybrid, with 2-3 days working from Daintta office (London or Cheltenham) or on client site as required. Depending on client demands, there may be a need for more than 3 days per week on client site.
