Job description

RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd.
To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent

Renewables are the future of our business, and Offshore Wind is central to our vision to lead the energy transition. With 800+ fixed-bottom and floating turbines in operation – plus additional capacity operated on behalf of partners – we are already the world’s No.2 offshore wind generator. By 2030, we aim to triple our output, powered by landmark projects such as Sofia (1,400 MW) and Kaskasi (342 MW). Offshore wind remains one of the most dynamic technical and operational challenges in energy, and Engineering plays a key role in unlocking solutions across the value chain – from project development to long-term operations.

To enhance technical excellence and improve better collaboration across our offshore wind fleet, we are hiring Platform Asset Managers for Vestas platforms. These roles will play a key part in supporting Engineering organisation and the wider Offshore Wind business.

About the role
  • Coordinate activities for one of our key turbine Vestas platforms, ensuring insights are shared and applied across the business. Support offshore wind farm operations by resolving complex technical issues, identifying recurring faults, and improving long‑term asset performance and maintenance strategies.
  • Facilitate the integration of operational learnings into Development and Construction processes, in collaboration with Chief Engineers and Lead Engineers.
  • Act as Engineering’s key liaison to the turbine suppliers, building robust relationships and leveraging existing networks to influence roadmaps, resolve issues, and accelerate innovation.
  • Together with Chief Engineer and Subject Matter Experts, identify and assess platform‑level risks, failure trends and critical component challenges – and facilitate or support the implementation of mitigations.
  • Enable technical knowledge sharing across the organization – promoting transparency and accessibility of engineering insights across business functions.
  • Collaborate closely with Chief Engineers, Lead Engineers, and Engineering line management to align platform direction with strategic business needs.
  • Represent Engineering in relevant forums, stakeholder groups and cross‑functional working teams, focusing on platform coordination and knowledge integration.
  • Possess the highest technical autonomy across multiple sites.
  • Direct and guide technical decisions for several General Managers and operational teams.
Job requirements and experience
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Renewable Energy or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience working with offshore wind turbines with Vestas, or in close collaboration with them.
  • Deep knowledge of WTG design, operation, and failure mechanisms – especially related to key components and interfaces.
  • Real‑world experience in supporting offshore wind farm operations or technical asset management is highly desirable.
  • Proficient collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across functions such as Development, Construction, Operations, and Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical topics while promoting collaboration and transparency.
  • Structured, analytical, and practical – with the ability to navigate both strategic and detailed technical work.
  • Proficient communicator in English – capable of engaging technical experts, suppliers, and senior stakeholders alike.
