Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Plant Technician or HGV Technician based in Birmingham. Job description

Plant Technician / HGV Technician

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Hours: 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday

My client is looking for an experienced Plant Technician or HGV Technician who ideally also has relevant qualifications.

As a Plant Mechanic and HGV Technician, your role will be to keep customers' vehicles and machinery fully maintained and compliant to maximise uptime. The right candidate will be able to deliver an exceptional service and the highest quality.

Duties

• Perform major and minor repairs to plant machinery as well as heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles as required.
• Carry out PDI works and attachment set up on plant machinery.
• Mobile repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
• Perform regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hrs and schedules.
• Maintain inventory in the service vehicle and keep it clean from oil spills and dust.
• Work with other departments, including the sales team to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers.
• Work with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for machines/vehicles.
• Maintain records of machines/vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
• Complete relevant documentation and paperwork as required and provide warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.

Requirements

• Ideally Level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance or plant machinery repair and maintenance.
• Minimum Level 3 qualification.
• Ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards.
• Current, full UK driving license.
