Mostly remote - Northern Home Counties

Panoramic Associates are proud to be working with a well-established local authority in the Northern Home Counties to recruit a Planning Solicitor to join their experienced in-house legal team.

This is a permanent role offered on a predominantly remote basis, with in-person attendance required only twice per month for evening Planning Committee meetings.

The Package
  • Salary: £43,621 - £57,142 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Car Allowance: Up to £3,000 for candidates with strong local government experience

The Role

As Planning Solicitor, you'll play a key role in supporting the council's planning and development functions. You'll advise on a range of planning and highways matters, ensuring the authority operates lawfully and effectively in these areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling a varied caseload of planning law matters, including drafting and negotiating Section 106 agreements
  • Providing clear, practical legal advice on planning and highways issues
  • Supporting and attending Planning Committees (two evenings per month)
  • Advising on planning enforcement matters, including the drafting of enforcement notices
About You

We're looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Planning Solicitor who can work independently and collaboratively within a supportive team.

Essential Requirements
  • 3-5 years PQE as a Planning Solicitor (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of planning law
  • Previous experience within a local authority
Desirable
  • Experience advising on highways law
