A local governmental authority is seeking a qualified Principal Lawyer in South Shields to support property and planning projects. The role involves working with a dedicated team on high-value regeneration initiatives. Ideal candidates will have experience in non-contentious property law or planning, with a pragmatic approach to their work. This hybrid role requires monthly attendance at Planning Committee meetings.
Location: Town Hall, South Shields / Hybrid; Salary: £57,869 per annum.
South Tyneside Council is seeking a qualified lawyer to undertake a mix of property and planning work. Working with a small but skilled and dedicated team this is an opportunity to play a central role in a variety of high profile and high value regeneration projects, and contribute to the work being done to achieve the Council’s Ambitions.
Experience of non-contentious property transactions and/or planning law and procedure is required. The role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in either of those areas, with an interest in developing knowledge in the other. For someone with a pragmatic approach to supporting major regeneration initiatives, this is an opportunity which should be considered.
The role can be undertaken on a hybrid basis, but attendance at meetings of Planning Committee which take place once a month would be required.
