A local government authority in the United Kingdom is looking for a Planning Policy Manager to manage the development of its Local Plan. The Planning Policy Manager will be responsible for managing the development of Hyndburn’s Local Plan, through which will be secured high quality and sustainable development across the Borough. The Council is seeking to deliver growth and investment for Hyndburn and the Local Plan is central to this with two strategic employment sites and a garden village at Huncoat.
The Planning Policy Manager will be a highly motivated, qualified and experienced planner who will be expected to manage the development of a sound local plan and ensure it is supported by the necessary evidence. Strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage within the Council, with its residents, applicants, and elected members, are essential. You should be a member of the RTPI with an excellent knowledge and experience of planning and development control. You should also be computer literate, able to manage people and budgets, and also possess strong negotiation skills.
