Job Description: Planner

Willmott Dixon is seeking a Planner to support our preconstruction team in the North East. The role involves delivering high-quality programmes for tenders and projects during preconstruction, supporting construction projects valued between £10m and £100m.

Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure thorough planning with a focus on commercial acumen and buildability.
  2. Create clear tender planning reports for the bid team, highlighting essential project planning elements.
  3. Develop well-informed tender programs with input from supply chain partners.
  4. Produce straightforward tender plans and programs demonstrating robust planning.
  5. Participate actively in project presentations during procurement.
  6. Encourage innovation and value engineering during tender preparation.
  7. Provide clear program commentaries and planning method statements.
  8. Prioritize a customer-first approach.
  9. Support the production of accurate programmes and logistics plans, ideally using Asta Power Project.
  10. Demonstrate proven experience in accurate programming and sequencing from outputs.
  11. Understand construction technology and methods, including steel structures, concrete frames, and timber frames.
  12. Interpret drawings, specifications, and other construction information.
  13. Understand site requirements related to setup, preliminaries, and temporary works.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Onsite planning experience preferred.
  • Ability to produce accurate programmes and logistics plans.
  • Experience with programming software such as Asta Power Project.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technology.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
