Job summary

A leading engineering services company in Helensburgh is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to join their team at the Clyde site. You will undertake repairs to plant system pipework for Royal Navy vessels, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and perform maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will hold a NVQ Level 3 in engineering or equivalent and have experience with relevant engineering procedures. Qualifications

  • Experience of working within a highly regulated industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.

Job description

The role

As a Pipefitter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary.

Day-to-day, you’ll undertake repairs to all plant system pipework on all Royal Navy and other entitled Vessels and, when required, in other sections including the Estate.

  • Completion of all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and nuclear implicated work to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business
  • Identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance Clyde HM Submarines, Surface Vessels and the Estate.
  • Ensure that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales.
  • Work within all Health & Safety legislation.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Clyde. Please note that this position involves working in confined spaces and working at height. Candidates must be able to work comfortably and perform tasks in restricted spaces and safely and perform tasks at varying heights.

Essential Experience
  • Production Technical Instructions, Support Documentation, brazing, pipe bending procedures and processes including all relevant acceptance standards.
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Experience within a highly regulated industry is advantageous but not essential.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
