Empower recovery after brain injury - deliver specialist physiotherapy that helps clients regain independence and rebuild their lives.

Remuneration: $56.68 - $58.52 per hour superannuation salary packaging.

Location: Tamworth Community Health Service.

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time.

Where you'll be working

Join the dedicated team at the New England Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (NEBIRS) – a regional community‑based multidisciplinary team providing specialist rehabilitation and case management to people aged 0‑65 who have sustained an acquired brain injury primarily traumatic in nature.

Our outreach model helps clients transition successfully from hospital to home and community life. We partner closely with clients' families and carers to deliver tailored person‑centred rehabilitation that fosters independence, participation and quality of life.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to provide specialist assessment, rehabilitation and case management to clients with acquired brain injury across the New England region.

In this rewarding role you'll
  • Deliver physiotherapy services across a range of settings – from transitional living units and client homes to community environments and virtual care.
  • Manage a complex community caseload ensuring all rehabilitation aligns with NSW Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program (BIRP) principles.
  • Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders including iCare CTP insurers and private rehabilitation providers.
  • Contribute to community education and provide expert advice across the local health district.

This role requires travel throughout the New England region as part of our outreach service.

About you

You're a compassionate and adaptable Physiotherapist with a passion for helping people rebuild their lives after brain injury. You bring:

  • Proven experience managing complex rehabilitation caseloads.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to continuous learning, culturally respectful care and evidence‑based practice.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting others (highly regarded).

Requirements

Essential tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Current eligibility to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes, which may involve driving long distances.
