A prominent healthcare institution in Norwich is seeking a full-time leader for its Phlebotomy Department. The Phlebotomy Department based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is part of the Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA), a managed Pathology network involving NNUH, the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn.
The Phlebotomy department is responsible for the provision of a phlebotomy service at NNUH only, covering daily ward‑based phlebotomy on a 7‑day per week basis as well as outpatient phlebotomy on the NNUH site. All staff are expected to act as a role model by consistently demonstrating NNUH's ‘PRIDE’ values: People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.
This is a full‑time, substantive leadership role. The successful candidate will hold a nursing background and apply clinical skills to support and develop the phlebotomy service, building leadership skills within a busy department.
The post holder will act as the technical and operational lead for Phlebotomy at NNUH, providing primary point of contact for technical and clinical advice, ensuring a high‑quality service, and coordinating the team of approximately 40 staff and a sub‑team of around 10 bank staff.
