Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Preston, a category B Prison located in Preston. The Pharmacy Technician will be based in the pharmacy team within the healthcare department with some expectations to work on the wing. You will be part of a team that consists of 6 including a pharmacist and 5 technicians.

This role is based on 37.5 hours per week with a rota that may include weekends:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Sunday 7:30am – 6:00pm
  • 2/4 weekends a month
  • 4 week rolling rota

Salary:

£33,232 – £40,211 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide outstanding patient-centred care, listening to and acting on patient feedback to ensure care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focussing on safe and secure medicines management, maintaining patient medical records to the agreed standard, and following standard operating procedures to a high standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and cost-effective prescribing as defined by our Health in Justice medicines policy.
  • Collaborate as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Essential qualifications include:

  • NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up-to-date Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures
