A healthcare organization in North Yorkshire is seeking a motivated individual to join their Pharmacy Stores team at York Hospital. The role involves managing stock, processing medicines, and ensuring high levels of attention to detail. Candidates should have strong manual handling skills and a flexible attitude. Full training will be provided alongside the opportunity to undertake an NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services.
This post involves working in a busy pharmacy store receiving, processing, and delivering medicines and bulk IV fluids to wards so previous experience of manual handling would be beneficial. An understanding of stock management is crucial to this role; this involves checking, receiving, and storing medicines. Ensuring that medicines are stored appropriately and securely both in pharmacy and on wards, participating in stock‑taking and the checking of medicines is an important part of this role, so attention to detail is vital.
The post holder will also undertake various housekeeping duties including dealing with queries, checking, and filing documents, processing waste and excess medicines and other duties supporting the efficient and safe operation of the pharmacy department. Previous pharmacy experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided. You will also be required to undertake a NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services.
