Summary

Band 2/3 depending on qualifications and experience. Pharmacy Dispenser required to support technical pharmacy teams at Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary Hospital. The role involves dispensing and labelling medicines for in‑patients, out‑patients and discharges, working at ward level as part of a discharge team and greeting patients at the pharmacy reception.

Responsibilities
  • Dispense and label a wide range of medicines with accuracy and speed under pressure.
  • Work at both Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary Hospital.
  • Greet patients at the pharmacy reception, receive and issue prescriptions.
  • Participate in extended hours, including late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
  • Maintain high standards of patient‑focused service and record keeping.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous pharmacy experience desirable but not essential; full training provided.
  • Must study for and obtain NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services; a Level 4 qualification may require self‑funding.
  • NVQ2 and relevant experience will lead to band 3 appointment.
  • Good communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner.
