Overview

Job summary: The postholder will lead the delivery of and be responsible for the strategic oversight, operational performance, and contract management of all Soft Facilities Management services including those delivered under the PFI contracts across the Stoke Mandeville, Amersham and Wycombe sites, together with the in-house service provision at our multiple Community locations. These include, but are not limited to, patient dining, domestic services, portering, catering, helpdesk, waste management, pest control and linen & laundry.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the delivery of soft FM services under PFI contracts; work closely with PFI providers and Trust stakeholders to manage and develop high-quality, safe and efficient soft FM services across the Trust.
  • Deputise for the Director of PFI Service Delivery when required.
  • Develop and execute policies and strategies to ensure alignment of all soft FM services with regulatory requirements; monitor and regularly review these policies; follow the contractual processes of the PFI agreements where applicable.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with contractual KPIs, quality standards, and statutory compliance using the performance monitoring regime within the contracts, while supporting patient safety and experience and aligning with Trust objectives and values.
  • Oversee the in-house facilities teams across the Trust community estate, including catering services, ensuring compliance with food hygiene standards and maintaining auditable records for services delivered.

Qualifications & Training
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to derive implications from numerical reports (e.g., interpreting benchmark data, interrogating and sense-checking performance data and audit scoring).
  • Further specialist professional knowledge acquired through documented CPD training which provides, or is equivalent to, a master’s-level qualification.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Expert knowledge of the delivery of soft FM services under a PFI model.
  • Detailed understanding of the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025.
