Our client, established in 1982, assists clients and business owners across numerous sectors. Their approach is friendly and personal and they are business owners themselves, giving them first-hand commercial experience in the areas you need.

Our client is looking to recruit a Personal Tax Manager to join their team in the Camden area. If you’re passionate about helping clients navigate personal tax matters and want to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, this role is for you!

About the Role

As the Manager of our Personal Tax department, you’ll be responsible for preparing and filing personal tax returns, offering expert advice on tax-saving strategies, and ensuring compliance with ever-changing UK tax regulations. You’ll manage a portfolio of both domestic and international clients, with opportunities to work on exciting advisory projects. You’ll also be the go-to mentor for a junior team member, guiding them as they grow within the firm.

You'll report directly to the partners, providing you with the chance to work closely with senior leadership while running the department. While this is a senior role, the portfolio of advisory work and international clients will keep you challenged and engaged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review financial records such as income statements, expense documents, and previous tax returns to determine the correct tax filing.

  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and clarify complex tax issues.
  • Represent clients in dealings with tax authorities, including audits and inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise tax positions and mitigate tax liabilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial data and client information.
  • Assist clients with tax-related questions and concerns throughout the year, not just during tax season.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to provide comprehensive financial solutions.
  • Manage and mentor a junior team member within the Personal Tax department.
Qualification and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field (CTA/ATT qualification preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in personal tax advisory and preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax laws and international tax considerations.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software and financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and client management skills.
