Responsibilities
- Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
- Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
- Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
- Support the individual to look after/care for pets.
- Support to get to and from school/work/college/social activities.
- Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
- Develop a good and trusting one-to-one working relationship.
- Able to push a transit wheelchair and lift it into their car, provide general support with day-to-day living; may need some assistance getting into bed on very bad days or if there has been a fall, etc.
- Transport requirement: Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.
- This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
- Report all accidents and defects/hazards immediately to the employer, ensuring safety of the individual at all times.

- Be honest, reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy, including the prohibition on using social media in relation to the job role.
- Work on one’s own initiative.
- Follow instructions accurately.
- Be patient, supportive and caring.
- Genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals; previous caring experience is not essential.
- Be able to work flexibly, adapting to the employer’s needs on a daily basis.
- Be self‑motivated with a willingness to get involved.
About the Client
32‑year‑old woman, generally positive outlook on life in spite of challenges. Determined to recover as much as possible and regain independence, no matter how long that may take. Relatively talkative and easygoing, however mobility issues and associated pain can limit how long I can actively engage for.
Working Hours
Hours per week: 5
Saturday, Sunday. Dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
