A caring support service in Carmarthen seeks a dedicated individual to assist a boy with special needs. Responsibilities include providing companionship, enabling independence, and ensuring safety. The ideal candidate is patient, friendly, and proactive. A full driving licence is required, and training will be provided. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the employer's life.
A 10 years old boy from Carmarthen who is in his final year at Myrddin Special Unit in Carmarthen. He has ASD and ADHD. He has a lovely manner and an infectious laugh. He is able to make his needs known but is prone to wander and requires constant supervision. He needs a routine and enjoys playing and has a remarkable ability to problem solve. He loves animals and has learnt to ride a horse. He is open to learning new things but this must have a high degree of routine and familiarity too, whether it be location or those taking care of him. He is able to use the toilet by himself but will sometimes need encouragement to go! He has a wonderful appetite and there is very little that he will refuse to eat. His favourites are fresh fruit and vegetables. He loves to ride his bike but once again he requires very close supervision as he has little regard for personal safety, something we are working hard to improve. He is a kind and loving boy and whoever takes care of him will find it a thoroughly rewarding experience.
