Personal Assistant required for gentleman in Acle 24hr shift once a week

Job Purpose: An opportunity as a personal assistant has become available to support an active gentleman in and out of his home with all aspects of personal care, medication, meal preparation, domestic duties, social activities. Encouraging independence and enrichment.

Location: Acle, NR13

Details: Personal care – Support in and out of the shower, pad changes. Administering medication. Meal preparation and support with eating. Social Activities – Going to the gym, football games, meeting up with friends. Then once a month he likes to go to a disability nightclub. Ensuring the bungalow is clean and tidy. Making sure it is a safe environment for him to be in. Night care – Ensuring he is comfortable during the night and has fluids. He can get confused about things that have happened in the day, so needs reassurance.

Person specification: Experience in care. Reliable. Trustworthy. Empathetic listener. Supportive. Full UK driving licence.

Summary terms and conditions: The rate of pay for this position is £14.49ph day rate 8am-10pm. Waking night rate £12.21ph 10pm-8am. Hours and times of work: 24hrs a week. One week being a Thursday and the following week a Sunday. Other duties will be discussed if/when deemed appropriate but everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance of the position. The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks. Access to free training for employed workers. If this job requires; Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training.

The post is subject to the following: A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer. Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer. Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
