A local support agency is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant in Bath, UK, to support a young boy with autism. The role requires providing constant 1:1 supervision, particularly overseeing activities like swimming and park visits. Knowledge of seizure management is essential, as the candidate must respond to seizures. The working hours involve 6 hours weekly, typically 3 hours after school on a weekday and 3 hours on a weekend, though flexibility is offered.
We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support Aiden, a lively and affectionate young boy who is severely autistic, non-verbal, and has no awareness of danger. He requires constant 1:1 supervision.
Aiden loves swimming, visiting the park, going for walks, and enjoys any activity that keeps him active and moving. All activity costs, food, and petrol expenses will be covered.
Aiden also has epilepsy, so it is important that the successful candidate has a good understanding of how to respond to seizures. Full information and guidance on Aiden’s specific needs and seizure types will be provided.
A current DBS check is essential.
We are ideally looking for someone who can provide 3 hours of support on one weekday after school and 3 hours on a weekend. However, we are flexible with days and can discuss availability.
