Personal Advisor | Children’s Social Care – Leaving Care Service | Burnley | Full Time

| Salary £28,142 - £32,061, Per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | Pro Rata

We are recruiting passionate and committed Personal Advisors to join Lancashire County Council’s Children’s Social Care – Leaving Care Service. You will support care experienced young people aged 15¾ to 25 as they transition to independence, ensuring they receive the right support at the right time.

Personal Advisor Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold a caseload of care leavers and provide tailored support to meet their individual needs.
  • Contribute to and coordinate Pathway Plans and reviews.
  • Advocate for young people, ensuring they understand their rights and entitlements.
  • Support access to education, employment, training, housing, health services, and financial support.
  • Promote resilience, independence, and positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings and supervision.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with vulnerable young people or care leavers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989, Children Leaving Care Act 2000, and related statutory guidance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, participation, and young people’s voices.

You work base with be Burnley however hybrid working is well balanced.
