Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and visionary midwife to join our team. Perinatal Pelvic Health Services (PPHS) will lead local delivery of the national ambition to improve the prevention, identification, and referral to NICE-recommended treatment for pelvic health problems during pregnancy and for at least 12 months following birth.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for pre and postnatal education, working within the PPHS multidisciplinary team and seeing patients in a clinical setting to support the needs of the service.
  • Perform comprehensive assessment of PPHS care needs for women with identified pelvic health and perineal conditions with the support of the specialist midwife for perineal and pelvic health.
  • Support the service by working alongside and under the indirect supervision of the Specialist Midwife for perineal and pelvic health and the PPHS physiotherapy team.
  • Provide targeted midwifery advice, working collaboratively and cooperatively with other agencies, involving the women in the organization of care provided.
  • Triage referrals to the service, liaising with appropriate agencies and completing appropriate care and education for these women.
Qualifications
  • Broad knowledge of all areas of midwifery and a passion for pelvic health and perineal care services.
  • Understanding of PPHS and perineal care services, with training and support from the specialist Perineal and pelvic health midwife upon appointment.
  • Flexible, innovative and resilient with excellent organisational skills.
