Job description
Overview

This advert relates to a new and exciting Performance and Quality Officer role and is open to new recruits and existing staff seeking a different type of challenge. The Yorkshire and Humber Probation Service are seeking to recruit a Performance and Quality Officer to work across the Region to join a newly created Housing Support Services team to work on an exciting project, assisting People on Probation and People in Prison to obtain and maintain accommodation. Whilst being deployed in to the Housing Support Services Team, official line management of the role shall be provided by the Regional Performance Team. Sitting within the Community Integration Business Unit, the team's main role shall be to support a caseload of men in prison and subject to community supervision, assisting them to identify and apply to viable housing options and opportunities, supporting them to attend assessment appointments, assisting them to be tenancy ready, supporting their move into new accommodation and providing initial new tenancy support and making onward referrals for additional support where required. Referrals will also be received on those in need of support to maintain their existing tenancies wherever possible/ in their best interests upon reception into custody or when at risk of eviction in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Support the activities of the team, including the Head of Service, to achieve the above objectives, analysing data and providing advice on referral levels, hotspots, workflow and other management information to assist in the design and delivery of an efficient and effective service.
  • Produce reports and provide insight and analysis for and on behalf of the Head of Service in reporting on performance measures to the relevant Regional and National Governance Boards.
  • Use excellent IT skills with experience of using Business Objectives, Excel and PowerBI or similar programmes.
  • Write and create reports.
  • Influencing and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and with a range of stakeholders including the Head of Service, wider Housing Support Service colleagues, Regional Performance and Quality Team, Contract Management Team and wider operational staff and management personnel across both the Probation and Prison Service as well as external stakeholders such as Local Authorities.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject (or appropriate practical experience).
  • Microsoft: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint (or equivalent i.e. Lotus Notes).
