Are you passionate about music education and eager to share your love of percussion with young learners? We are seeking a dedicated and talented Percussion Teacher to join our team and inspire students across Kirklees. This exciting role offers the opportunity to deliver engaging one-to-one and small-group lessons, as well as Whole-Class Instrumental Teaching, helping pupils unlock their musical potential and discover the joy of rhythm through instruments such as African drums, samba, and hand chimes.
The role currently offers 4.5 hours of percussion teaching per week across a 33-week school year, with lessons delivered in schools and at one of our vibrant Music Centres on Friday afternoons and evenings. However, there is significant scope to expand your hours, with exciting opportunities to grow your timetable by recruiting and teaching additional students. This flexibility means you can shape the role to suit your ambitions, with endless possibilities to develop your teaching practice and inspire more young musicians. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic percussionist who can bring lessons to life, nurture confidence in young players, and play a vital part in shaping the next generation of musicians.
You will require an Enhanced DBS, and you will need to be able to transport yourself between different schools during each working day
Our organisation is very interested in teachers who can recruit pupils for individual or small group lessons, or for Whole Class Instrumental Teaching sessions in schools – this would expand your hours within your control. For new teachers, we provide up to 15 hours of paid recruitment per year (as directed by your line manager).
