Penetration Tester – SC Cleared

Rate: £55ph via Umbrella

Location & Setup: Hybrid (50/50 split, Wokingham)

Engagement: Initial engagement until December 2025

Clearance: Active SC clearance required

Our client is a leading organisation at the forefront of cyber security, safeguarding critical systems and infrastructure against evolving threats. Their security division is expanding, and they are seeking an experienced Penetration Tester with current SC clearance to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, delivering cutting-edge security assessments and red team exercises.

The Penetration Tester Role

As a Penetration Tester, you will be responsible for conducting both manual and automated penetration testing across web applications, APIs, networks, and mobile platforms. You will plan and execute red team exercises, identify vulnerabilities, and provide detailed risk assessments. Working closely with development and infrastructure teams, you will support remediation efforts, deliver comprehensive reports, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of security policies and awareness training.

Penetration Tester Essential Skills

• Proven experience in penetration testing, ethical hacking, or red teaming
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, CVSS scoring
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Wireshark, Kali Linux
• Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud environments
• Relevant certifications (OSCP, CEH, GPEN, CRTP) highly desirable
• Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
• Active SC Clearance required
