A community health services provider in Woking is looking for a Band 5 Speech & Language Therapist to manage a varied caseload of children with complex needs. OurBand 5 Speech & Language Therapistsare part of the Paediatric Therapy team and will manage a general caseload of children with a range of varied and complex needs while accessing appropriate support and supervision. Newly qualified practitioners will work towards autonomous practise with formal supervision from their line manager.

BaseThe post holder will be based at a site within their local quadrant of Surrey. This could be an admin base or a clinical base. Admin bases are located in Woking, Guildford, Chertsey, Epsom and Redhill.
Provide specialist support and advice to children, parents, and families regarding therapy needs, using clear and appropriate communication.
Share and receive complex or sensitive information with empathy and professionalism.
Attend and organise multidisciplinary meetings to offer expert input on therapy needs and care planning.
Support families coping with emotional challenges, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding.
Prepare and maintain accurate written and electronic reports, records, and therapy documentation in line with professional standards.
Develop, implement, and review individualised therapy programmes, ensuring accessibility for parents/carers through verbal, written, or pictorial formats.
Conduct assessments, interpret results, and set therapy goals as part of holistic care planning.
Communicate assessment findings to paediatricians, parents/carers, and relevant professionals, contributing to diagnosis and ongoing care.
Make referrals to other professionals/agencies as appropriate.
Provide supervision to students and contribute to the training of parents, carers, and educational staff.
Deliver presentations and support the development of therapy services.
Effectively manage and prioritise a caseload, balancing clinical and professional duties..
Reflect on and develop own practice through supervision and continuous professional development in line with HCPC and professional standards.
