Job description

A Secondary School in Swindon is on a hunt for a PE teacher to start their role on the 24th of November.

  • Cover supervisor experience
  • QTS ideal

This is a larger Secondary school and with that come some challenges but the new leadership has put a large emphasis on improvement thus has seen significant improvement in their behaviour and exam results this year. This school has top facilities and a beautiful building making it a comfortable and inspiring environment for students and staff. If you are a confident and resilient educator wanting to be a part of a wider community and aid the positive improvements with this school's team this is a great opportunity for you.

As a PE teacher you will support and teach pupils a range of subjects including health and physical education and a wide range of sports, up to GCSE level. The school puts a big emphasis on the importance of engagement in physical education and the transferable values and skills that participation in sports can bring beyond the school years. Planning and marking will not be a part of this role but the ability to build rapport with teenagers and establish authority without being heavy handed will be necessary.

Guiding the pupils in developing their sense of leadership, organisation, resilience and responsibility should be one of your top priorities in this role.

If you are a confident and experienced educator ready to share your passion for sports with the pupils and encourage them to find a sport they will love for years to come, this is the role for you.
