Are you a passionate PE Teacher dedicated to motivating young people to lead active, healthy lifestyles? GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic PE Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Barnsley from Easter Term 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to inspire students to enjoy physical education, build teamwork skills, and achieve their full potential both in sport and in life.

About the Role

As a PE Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, encouraging participation in a wide range of sports and activities. You will help students develop physical fitness, resilience, and teamwork, while preparing them for both practical and theoretical PE assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach PE across KS3 and KS4, inspiring students of all abilities.
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
  • Manage classroom and sports field behaviour, maintaining a safe environment.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, extracurricular clubs, and whole-school events.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Specialism in Physical Education or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching PE at secondary level (GCSE desirable).
  • Strong subject knowledge with a passion for promoting health and fitness.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A ten-year career history with references covering the past two years, including your most recent role.
