Trial Balance Consulting is pleased to be recruiting for a long-standing client, a successful and expanding engineering business, for the position of Payroll Manager. This is a senior, permanent role within a large, friendly finance team.

The role involves managing the company's substantial payroll across multiple divisions, supported by an experienced Payroll Officer.

With a new payroll system soon to be implemented, you will help identify and advise on process improvements to ensure a smooth transition.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.
  2. Provide payroll cost analysis and reports for senior management.
  3. Ensure compliance with statutory payroll and pension legislation.
  4. Lead system improvements and process efficiencies.
  5. Manage, mentor, and develop payroll team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing large, multi-division payrolls, strong leadership skills, and knowledge of payroll and pension legislation. Experience with cloud-based payroll and T&A systems is preferred. Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement at senior levels are essential.
