Job description
What You'll Do

As the sole Payroll Administrator, you will manage multi-state payroll processing for the organization. In this role, you’ll ensure payroll and benefits are administered accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. Your knowledge of the Davis-Bacon Act, prevailing wage requirements, and certified payroll reporting will be essential to our operations. You thrive working with both people and numbers, and you’re committed to delivering outstanding customer service to employees across the company. You will:

  • Process weekly payroll for up to 500 exempt, non-exempt, and commissioned employees nationally, ensuring accuracy and compliance with wage laws
  • Verify employee classifications and wage determinations under prevailing wage laws
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required by government agencies for prevailing wage payroll
  • Maintain records of fringe benefits and wage rates for compliance audits
  • Calculate complex pay scenarios (prevailing wage differentials, multi-state taxation, piece rates, monthly sales commissions, annual bonuses)
  • Reconcile time and attendance, track, enter, and balance PTO and leaves, and research and resolve discrepancies with HR and Finance
  • Process garnishments, child-support orders, employment verifications in compliance with regulations, unemployment responses, UI taxes
  • Serve as a responsive point of contact for employee payroll questions, deductions, and benefits-related inquiries
  • Stay current on wage and hour laws, multi-state tax requirements, and certified payroll standards; proactively improve policies and workflows
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime or weekends as necessary

Compensation

Compensation: $75,000 - 80,000/year, depending on experience
