Job description

The post holder will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks to ensure the accurate and efficient management of outpatient bookings. This will involve the use of the electronic Referral System (eRS) and effective coordination of clinic schedules. They will be expected to work in line with Government Access Targets, ensuring accurate administration of patients' pathways. Key duties will include the collection and entry of essential data into computerised systems, as well as maintaining up-to-date and accurate patient information at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage outpatient bookings using the electronic Referral System (eRS).
  • Coordinate clinic schedules.
  • Work in line with Government Access Targets, ensuring accurate administration of patients' pathways.
  • Collect and input essential data into computerised systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient information at all times.
  • Accurate patient administration.
  • Adhere to Trust targets.
  • Ensure data quality.
  • Work strictly within the Government’s Access targets for patients on an 18‑week RTT pathway.
  • Ensure accurate coding of attendances is carried out in a timely manner.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Previous administrative/clerical experience.
  • Knowledge of patient record systems/databases with proven experience.
  • Excellent keyboard and IT skills, including experience of maintaining and administering databases.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and professional approach at all levels.
  • Dependable, with a flexible attitude to work and the ability to adapt to service needs.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of the NHS 18‑week Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathway.
  • Previous experience within healthcare services.
