Job description
Overview

The successful candidate will carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice. Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies. Manage appliance testing in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations. Liaise with customers to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, to customer\'s requirements, whilst limiting the disruption to their business. Sites include Schools, Hospitals, Hotels and Universities. The engineer must have an acceptable knowledge of Microsoft Office and have access to emails; once a week the successful process of downloading results must be completed and sent to the PAT team at Head Office. Job schedules will be arranged by the PAT Team at Head Office; however, the Engineer must be able to manage their own time efficiently and successfully. Maintain an acceptable time-keeping record and ensure that start & finish times are adhered to as directed by the PAT Manager. Identify, prevent, or pre-empt potential areas for customer dissatisfaction, for example arriving late due to traffic. Good route preparation and forward planning are vital.

Responsibilities

  • Produce results that meet client and external accrediting body requirements and quality standards.
  • Test appliances in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Liaise with customers to minimise disruption and meet their requirements.
  • Coordinate with the PAT Team at Head Office for scheduling and weekly result downloads.
  • Manage time effectively to meet schedules and maintain regular time-keeping.
  • Proactively identify and address potential customer dissatisfaction through good planning and preparation.
  • Operate across varied sites (schools, hospitals, hotels, universities).
Qualifications / Skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to work with emails.
  • Literate with IT; be able to download weekly reports to the PAT team.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills; able to work independently.
  • Be willing to work in different environments and comply with current uniform standards.
  • Must hold Full Manual UK Driving Licence.
  • Must pass Full enhanced DBS check.
  • Ability to manage a workload across multiple sites and travel as required.
Working Arrangements & Benefits
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday; some weekend work and occasional out-of-hours work may be required; some time spent away from home Monday to Friday.
