Overview

Part-Time Veterinary Nurse Opportunities in Somerset. Salary £11,000 – £20,000 per year (dependent on experience). We have two roles available: Position 1 – 21 hours per week; Position 2 – 14 hours per week. These roles are at a small, independent practice that prioritises high standards and compassionate care for animals.

Day shifts and some weekend availability are required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist during examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments; monitor health and behaviour of animals; provide pre- and post-operative care.
  • Carry out laboratory work such as blood tests and urinalysis; maintain accurate medical records.
  • Help keep the clinic organised, clean, and fully equipped.
  • Provide client advice on animal care, nutrition, and general wellbeing.
  • Reception duties such as appointment scheduling and managing communications as part of day-to-day work.
Qualifications
  • Recognised veterinary nursing qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a veterinary setting.
  • Confidence in basic lab procedures; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal welfare.
  • Leadership experience is beneficial.
