Overview

We’re Hiring a Part-Time Outreach Dental Nurse

Competitive Salary: 29,500.00 per annum, pro rata

Location: Harleigh Road Dental Clinic, covering Outreach activities and also providing support for our Mobile Dental Unit (MDU)

4 Days per week, 30 hours

Are you passionate about making dental care accessible to everyone? We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Outreach Dental Nurse to join our team and play a vital role in delivering oral health services and supporting the delivery of dentistry via our MDU to communities across the county.

As an Outreach Dental Nurse, you’ll support a range of community-based dental initiatives, working with patients who may have difficulty accessing traditional dental services – including schools, care homes, and vulnerable populations.

About the Role

• Assist dental clinicians in delivering care in outreach settings across the county
• Support the delivery of our mobile dental services, provided from our MDU across Cornwall
• Provide chairside support during community clinics and oral health education sessions
• Ensure equipment and materials are prepared and maintained for off-site clinics
• Support infection control, patient safety, and safeguarding protocols in non-clinical settings
• Help to promote oral health through education and engagement with patients and carers
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative duties related to outreach services

About You

• GDC-registered Dental Nurse
• Oral Health Education Qualification
• NEBDN Certificate in Fluoride Varnish Application
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working independently and in new environments
• Organised, flexible, and committed to delivering care in diverse community settings
• A full driving licence is essential for travel between outreach locations
• Experience in community or outreach dentistry is desirable, but not essential
