About the Practice

Zest Optical is working with a well‑established independent Opticians in Chippenham, Wiltshire. The practice has served the local community for over 40 years and is known for first‑class patient care in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Position: Part Time Optometrist

Work part‑time (2 days a week + 2 Saturdays per month), with flexibility to cover holidays and swap Fridays for Thursdays to avoid bank holidays. Salary is between £55,000 and £60,000 pro rata. One‑hour lunch break and free onsite parking.

Responsibilities and Working Conditions
  • Provide clinical optometry services in a 45‑minute testing window.
  • Collaborate with two highly qualified Optometrists, both with Independent Prescribing qualifications.
  • Support and learn from an experienced Dispensing Optician and trained Optical Assistants.
  • Use advanced diagnostic equipment including Topcon OCT, Topcon Auto Phoropter, Henson 9000, iCare and Intellipuff tonometers, and Topcon MYAH.
  • Maintain fully electronic patient records using Optinet Flex.
  • Participate in specialist clinics such as Myopia Control and Colourimetry.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified Optometrist registered with the GOC.
  • Ideally seeking an employed Optometrist.
  • Passionate about delivering the highest level of clinical and customer care.
  • Friendly, professional and keen to continue developing skills.
