Job description

Are you a kind and caring nanny with SEN experience?

A fabulous part-time nanny role has become available in Hedgerley, Buckinghamshire.

You will be required to work 16 hours each week, either as two full days or four half days. This is flexible and can be agreed to suit both the nanny and the client. There will also be the potential for occasional evening or weekend babysitting, which will be paid as overtime.

You will be caring for a wonderful little boy aged four. He also has a baby sister aged one; however, she attends nursery, so your primary focus will be on the little boy.

The little boy has a diagnosis of autism and, although he is non-verbal, he is a happy child who enjoys being outdoors, going for walks, visiting the park and music. He requires support to access play, so experience in children with autism is essential. He currently attends a mainstream nursery, but this can be challenging for him, and his parents feel he would benefit from a more nurturing one-to-one environment.

The main priority of this role is to keep the little boy happy, engaged, and occupied. You will also prepare healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for him each day.

Although the family has a cleaner twice a week, any help with keeping the household running smoothly would be appreciated, such as keeping the kitchen organised and ensuring toys are tidied away at the end of the day. There would be no expectation to do any cleaning outside of general child care and tidying.

You should be a careful and confident driver, with your own fully insured car and a clean driving licence. Duty mileage will be paid.

To ensure the little boy gains the maximum benefit from his time with his nanny, SEN experience is essential, particularly experience supporting children with autism. Knowledge of sensory processing and Makaton would be advantageous.

If you are a calm and gentle nanny who would like to support this wonderful family, please apply below.
