Job summary

A local charity in Dover is seeking a part-time Accountant to support the Director with financial compliance and reporting. You will be involved in payroll, managing budgets, and providing financial information for funding applications. Ideal candidates will have relevant accounting qualifications, experience with Sage software, and strong communication skills. This role is part-time, 18.5 hours per week, with flexible hours and a commitment to equality and inclusion in service delivery.

Qualifications

  • AAT or Management Accounting part-qualification, or qualified by experience.
  • 1 year or more in a relevant role, paid or voluntary.
  • Experience preparing year-end accounts and working with auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll, pension, and HMRC administration.
  • Produce monthly salary breakdown by funder.
  • Ensure compliance with charity and statutory financial regulations.

Skills

Excellent working knowledge of financial/payroll software including Sage
Understanding of Charity Commission compliance
Effective communication and listening skills
Strong planning and organisational skills
Sensitivity to cultural differences
Analytical and problem-solving skills

Education

AAT L1-3, Part-Qualified Management Accounting or relevant experience
