Overview

Home Instead Medway is recruiting Care Assistants in Gillingham, Rochester, Chatham, Strood & East Gravesend DA12 and surrounding areas. This is a part-time role with driving licence and access to a vehicle essential to support clients, and availability to work alternate weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Care visits of one hour or more to avoid feeling rushed, including personal care, mobility support, companionship, light housekeeping, and domestic tasks as required.
  • Support clients to maintain independence by assisting with household chores, meal preparation, shopping, and reminders for medications.
  • Provide non-medical services to help clients stay independent in their own home and accompany them on local trips as appropriate.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and the office team; uphold safeguarding and confidentiality standards.

Requirements
  • Experience in the care sector/domiciliary care preferred; empathetic, reliable, punctual, and flexible.
  • You must be a driver with a full UK licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Available from 7:00–14:00 and 16:00–22:00, including alternate weekends.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities may include assisting with personal care, meal preparation, light housework, appointments, and companionship.
Qualifications
  • Experience in caring for older people; ability to provide personal care, medication support, and other care needs as required.
  • Willingness to learn and complete funded qualifications (NVQ 2, 3, 4, 5) where offered.
