Part-Time Bookkeeper

Salary & Benefits

Role Overview

As a Part-Time Bookkeeper, you will oversee the full end-to-end finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to relevant legislation. This role requires strong experience with Sage 50 and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced and expanding business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Generate and issue weekly sales invoices using Sage 50
  • Manage purchase and sales ledgers, including credit control
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC requirements
  • Run payroll and pension submissions
  • Monitor and chase overdue payments; manage the debtor ledger
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements
  • Produce monthly cash flow statements
  • Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants
Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance role
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts
  • Experience in payroll, cash flow management, and VAT returns
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Confident communicator for liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Flexible, with a willingness to support other departments when needed
Desirable Attributes
  • Experience working within a small to medium-sized business environment
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing or industrial supply sectors
