Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be working alongside an established Technology business well-known in their industry to appoint a Part-Time Accountant (20 hours per week) to join their team at their Dundee office, on a permanent basis. You'll be joining a small family run business, you will oversee the financial operations and administrative function. This role is 20 hours per week, spread over the week (ideally Monday to Friday 10-2pm however, this can be flexible for the right candidate)

The Opportunity

As the part-time Accountant your role will involve:

  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Budgeting and financial reporting
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of sales and purchase invoices, expenses, financial reports, and financial transactions
  • Perform regular financial analysis, and report any improvement and support decision-making processes
  • Communicate with external stakeholders such as, clients, suppliers, and financial service providers
  • Prepare and present financial statements and reports to senior management
  • Credit control - working alongside Administrator
  • Assist Office Administrator where necessary

The Candidate

  • You will have strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis and reporting
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Applications (Knowledge of SAGE would be advantageous)
  • Previously experience working in an accounting or financial management roles
  • A strong understanding and experience in Accounts Payable, Receivable and Bank Reconciliations
  • Previous experience working to deadlines, with a keen eye for details and organisational skills
