Overview

Wyre Council is looking to recruit a Parks Area Team Leader who will lead a team of Gardeners and Skilled Gardeners maintaining our award-winning open spaces. The role covers work across Wyre Borough including cemeteries, with opportunities to develop skills in management and supervision of grounds maintenance teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of Gardeners and Skilled Gardeners in the maintenance of parks, ornamental areas, fine turf, sports pitches and recreational spaces.
  • Manage a programme of work and recommend future improvements to maintain high standards of grounds maintenance.
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues to continue delivering award-winning green flag standards.
What You’ll Need
  • NVQ level 2 in Horticulture or equivalent qualification including PA1 & PA6a
  • The ability to supervise, motivate and lead a team
  • Knowledge of and ability to use a range of grounds maintenance equipment
  • A current full driving licence
  • Be sufficiently physically mobile to undertake the duties of a Parks Area Team Leader
