Job Overview

Priority Candidates will be considered first. Location: Pennington Flash Nature Reserve, St Helens Road Leigh WN7 3PA.

Salary: Grade 4, £25,583 – £26,824 per annum. 37 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Habitat maintenance: use of chainsaws, brush cutters, spraying equipment.
• Facility maintenance: bin emptying, litter picking, cleaning, rubbish removal.
• Support day‑to‑day operations and customer service.
• Structure repairs and equipment inspections.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience working outdoors in all elements.
• Working knowledge of health & safety in the workplace.
• Valid licensing/certification for chainsaws, brush cutters, spraying equipment (current or training to be provided).
• Full UK driving licence preferred but not mandatory.

About Pennington Flash Nature Reserve

Pennington Flash Nature Reserve is the only National Nature Reserve in Greater Manchester, a grade‑listed site covering 490 acres of wildlife habitats including wetlands, grasslands, meadows, woodlands and water.

Other services include an adventure playground, bird hides, nature trails, a café and a 9‑hole golf course.
