A leading Chartered IFA firm in the North West is seeking a qualified paraplanner to join their team. With a focus on employee development, this role offers great potential for growth into planning. Responsibilities include providing full support to financial planners and overseeing a variety of cases. The firm values ambition and offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement with a competitive salary up to £45,000, alongside benefits like 27 days holiday and a generous pension scheme.
“I've gone as far as I can”
The number one reason people move jobs? They've stopped learning.
And that's because a lot of people and by extension firms think short-term. And when they think short-term they don't think about their employee's ambitions. Their futures. How they'll progress and get better. It's all about the here and now.
And that leads to people feeling unfulfilled. Bored even. They've gone as far as they can.
Not here. This Chartered IFA firm is one of the best outfits in the North West (even FT Adviser would agree).
They take the retention of their staff seriously and have an impressive pedigree when it comes to developing their people. You'll have the framework to become a senior paraplanner with wider team responsibilities. You can even move into planning.
But they'll be honest. Becoming a planner is achievable through their academy but over the medium-long term (2-3 years). There won't be any over-promising and under-delivering here.
As for the job itself you'll be one of 13 paraplanners providing full paraplanning support to a similar number of IFAs. You'll typically work with more than one planner - 3 is the likely number - providing variety to the cases you'll oversee. It also provides variety in relationships and the way different planners work.
The salary (up to £45,000) reflects how seriously this business takes the hiring and retention of the best talent.
It's important to know they trust their staff. They offer hybrid working (2 days a week in the office) and have flexible working between 8am and 6pm. As long as you do your hours and your core hours of 10-4, the rest is up to you. A great sign that you'll be treated as the adult you are.
There's also:
You’ll be level 4 qualified and have experience as a paraplanner. You don't need years and years of experience, but it will have an impact on the salary on offer.
This is a business that has done wonders for people's careers. They hire not only on what you can do now, but your potential. So you'll be ambitious but humble and keen to learn.
