Job summary

A leading UK chambers of medico-legal experts is seeking a Paralegal to manage a caseload of medico-legal matters. The role involves client communication, ensuring compliance with court deadlines, and document management. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of civil and criminal legal systems and excellent IT skills. Qualifications

  • Must understand both civil and criminal legal justice systems; experience in clinical negligence is ideal.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows and Apple operating systems.
  • Experience speaking to clients over the phone and corresponding by email.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of pre-action and litigious medico-legal matters.
  • Ensure experts are aware of key court dates.
  • Correspond with clients via email and telephone.
  • Upload new instructions onto the file sharing platform.
  • Index, paginate and extract relevant documents for review.
  • Adhere to data protection regulations.
  • Complete additional ad hoc tasks as needed.

Overview

Our client is a leading UK chambers of medico-legal experts. They offer services to law firms in personal injury, clinical negligence, employment law, criminal and private law matters. They are now looking for a Paralegal to join the team and the role would suit applicants who are looking to work in a Company that is rapidly expanding.

Salary : £26,000-£30,000 (DOE)

The Role
  • Managing a caseload of pre-action and litigious medico-legal matters on behalf of our medical experts and our clients.
  • Ensuring that all of our experts are aware of key dates including Court timetabled dates and Court listed hearing dates.
  • Corresponding with clients via email and telephone.
  • Uploading new instructions onto our bespoke file sharing platform.
  • Indexing, paginating and extracting relevant documents / medical records for experts to review.
  • Adhering to data protection regulations and laws at all times.
  • Completing additional ad hoc tasks when requested.
The Person
  • Must have an understanding of both the civil and criminal legal justice systems; experience in a clinical negligence role ideal.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • IT literate : Excellent knowledge of Windows and Apple operating systems (training will be given as necessary for all company bespoke systems).
  • Must have an eye for detail.
  • Experience of speaking to clients over the phone and corresponding by email.
  • Driven and self-motivated.
  • Being able to work to sometimes tight deadlines.
