Painter & Decorator

Location: HMP Portland, 104 Grove Rd, Grove, Portland DT5 1DL

Salary: £27,945.35 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full time - 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are seeking an NVQ qualified Painter and Decorator to join our team at HMP Portland, a category B adult male and YOI prison.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for a Painter & Decorator with any combination of:

  • A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and decorating or equivalent (or significant experience/time served in a similar role)
  • Experience working in a maintenance team
  • An honest and reliable character, who can approach their work with a sense of purpose and pace
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Future Plans.

GFSL has been notified by it\'s shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM Services will in future be delivered by the private sector. This means that following a successful procurement process, GFSL\'s services will complete transfer to a private sector provider/providers no sooner than August 2027.
