Paint Prepping Technician

Location – Accrington BB5 5JW

Pay Rate - £22 per hour

Contract – Outside IR35

E-ppl are leading suppliers of Managed Services within the automotive industry. Working with the main OEMs within the UK and overseas. We are a specialist contractor who OEM's call on to support their vehicle projects. This can range from carefully planned and executed launch support projects through to very reactive quality campaigns. All our projects are fully managed offering a turn-key solution to our customers.

Here at E-PPL we are looking for an experienced Paint Prepping Technician who will be responsible for preparing plastic and fiberglass automotive bumpers for the painting process. This includes cleaning, sanding, filling, and smoothing surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of automotive body work and painting processes, and experience with the tools and materials required for the job.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in automotive bodywork, sanding, and surface preparation.
  • Experience with plastic and fiberglass repair is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with various types of primers, fillers, and sealant
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of precision.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and power tools common to automotive body shops.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet production deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive finishes and paint systems.
  • Prep and Repair: Inspect, clean, and repair automotive bumpers, including sanding, filling, and smoothing surfaces to prepare them for painting.
  • Prime and Mask: Apply primer coats evenly and mask off areas to ensure a professional finish.
  • Quality Control: Inspect all work to ensure it meets quality standards and correct any imperfections.
  • Maintenance & Safety: Keep the work area and tools clean and organized while following all safety and hazardous waste protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in automotive body repair or painting is a plus

Working Hours 9am till 6pm Monday to Friday

Pay Rate - £22 per hour standard

Overtime may be available

Contract – Outside IR35
